In Sunday League football there are now frequently all girls teams playing in "boys" leagues. And one or two girls in predominantly boys teams.

Nearly all the girls academy teams in London play in boys Sunday league as it's a harder challenge.

It's not 1970 anymore.

Yeah shame that... you know what I'm glad my daughter has just stuck to dance... not sure I could handle watching her trying to two foot some hairy arsed 17 year old... but hey each to their own... which in my eyes is what should be happening on the pitch

I watched the Arse v Us highlights, they didn't offend me. If you don't like it, watch something else.

Blinding header from Thomas for our goal. Not too bad to lose out by the odd goal to the champions.

Apology accepted. It was an observation.

Sorry, I mistook your comment about it being rammed down your throat as a complaint.

Then why moan about it as if you're being re-educated like Alex in A Clockwork Orange?

I quite like it. Watch it when there’s not much else on and am glad there’s at least some football on. Always have watched it going back to the 90s when the Doncaster Belles were on. Would have even gone to the women’s cup final last season if it wasn’t on at the same time as a home game.

None of that makes my previous post inaccurate.

"Rammed down your throat"?

I know you're living in the past, but there is more than one TV channel.

Has been since 1964.

If you don't want women's football being "rammed" down your throat, staying off a thread clearly discussing women's football is a good place to start.

“Why people need to be so vicious about the women's game I don't know.”

Because of the way it is rammed down your throat and we are sold the PR that it is on a par. The winners of the women’s World Cup are extremely political in their call for parity with men’s wages.

Also, it is on a par with, or maybe a bit below 13 yr old boys football.

`My daughter's U12s boys team (her and one other girl in it) played against an unbeaten U13s girls team today and beat them comfortably`.

What boy would ever want to play against a team of girls at that age?? Well unless it's non contact... we had a mixed charity 5 a side game about 15-10 years ago at work... a mixture of blokes and women... one of mt=y good mates a girl tried to hack me down and ended up breaking her foot... and then later on I booted a shot straight into the face of my then boss at the time in goal.. she just stood there like a statue and next thing she is picking her glasses out of the floor and her face... stick to playing your own sex...

Cheap tickets are a great incentive to get young kids interested in watching and hopefully playing football.

Re: West Ham women’s team- yes, a post about much maligned women’s football...
MTC it's a ridiculous comparison. No-one is saying they're at the same level as one another. The Chelsea manager after the match today was saying if their game is to develop they need to not give tickets away for free as in the long term it's not viable. Why people need to be so vicious about the women's game I don't know.

My daughter's U12s boys team (her and one other girl in it) played against an unbeaten U13s girls team today and beat them comfortably. I really think the issue is that most boys start playing at maybe 6 years old but a lot of girls haven't started until 10 or 11. It makes a huge difference to their development.
